What type of damage can Raccoons cause?

Raccoons can cause significant damage to your property, including:

A. Chewing and destroying siding, soffit, and fascia, sometimes even penetrating through the roof.

B. Denning in attics, displacing insulation, and leaving urine and feces throughout the entire attic space.

C. Posing health hazards associated with raccoons, such as raccoon roundworm, rabies, and distemper.

At Ancon Wildlife Services, we employ humane methods to remove and relocate these nuisance animals.

Do you have multiple locations?

Yes, we have two offices to service both Southeast Michigan and Southwest Michigan, providing wildlife removal services across the region.

Is this a free service?

No, we are a privately owned animal control company that provides wildlife and animal removal services to homeowners and businesses in Michigan. If you're having trouble with raccoons, squirrels, skunks, opossums, bats, mice, birds, or any other form of wild animal, you can contract us to resolve the issue and take action to prevent future problems.

Are you an animal rescue group?

While wildlife animal issues can be heart-wrenching, we are not funded by local and state taxes, so we cannot perform any rescues without a fee being paid first. As a professional wildlife removal company in Michigan, we offer humane animal removal services for a fee.

Is there a fee for an inspection?

Yes, we do charge a fee for inspections. Inspections entail a detailed investigation of the entire property. Due to the real expenses on our part to have a technician come to your home, we have to charge a fee to offset these expenses. Areas that will be addressed are: species invasion assessment, attic or invasion site decontamination and deodorizing, best method of removal, and long-term solutions to prevent reoccurrences. Prices will be assessed at the time of inspection for these services. As we try to offer our customers "set" rates, not all circumstances are the same, and pricing is ultimately at the sole discretion of our contracted technicians but will not exceed what Ancon Wildlife Services deems fair. Trapping, relocation, and inspection fees will be provided over the phone.

What are the potential health hazards associated with an animal invasion?

Different species have different hazards associated with them. This list will familiarize you with the most common:

Rabies: Viral disease associated with wildlife, especially raccoons, skunks, and bats. If left untreated, it has a 100 percent fatality rate. If you are bitten or scratched by any form of animal, proceed to the nearest ER immediately.

Raccoon Roundworm: Parasitic disease associated with raccoons. It is easily transmitted to humans through contaminated soil, and children are especially susceptible to it.

Hantavirus: Viral disease associated with mice. Easily transmitted in areas heavily contaminated with feces.

Histoplasmosis: Fungal disease associated with bat guano (feces). Endospores are airborne and cause fungal growth in the lungs, and if left untreated, can be fatal. Children and the elderly are the most susceptible.

Meningitis: A viral disease associated with all rodents. Attacks the central nervous system. Potentially fatal.

Do you use humane traps?

Whenever possible, we use humane animal removal methods and live trapping and relocation practices. However, certain species and situations may require that we deploy lethal traps. Lethal traps will never be used without a proper explanation and your full consent.

Do you offer any form of repellents?

No, there is no such thing as an animal repellent. Be wary of anyone offering or selling these products. Mothballs and ammonia will not be effective at driving animals away either.

Testimonials

  • After calling and hiring a competitor company, which failed miserably at solving my squirrel problem, I found Ancon Wildlife Services. Dave came out and performed an inspection of my home and informed me that the solution to my problem would be accomplished through a process known as exclusion. The other company only offered trapping services and didn't seem as knowledgeable. Dave informed me that a good portion of Ancon's customers have had a similar experience with other animal control companies. from start to finish I felt good about doing business with Ancon. I highly reccomend their service and I wish I would have called them first.

  • Mike was awesome! my experience should have been filmed and put on T.V.! Seriously. We were hearing chirping noises in our fire place and called Ancon. Mike climbed up on the roof and some how motivated the raccoon to the top. He then wrestled the critter out of the chimney with a pole of some sort and put it in cage. WOW! He wasnt done yet...he went back in the living room and removed the baby raccoons from the fireplace put them in cage and informed me that he would relocate the family all together. Fearless and caring, these guys are incredible! He then installed an animal proof chimney cap to prevent any future animal problems. Top notch service and excitement to boot.
